Welfare Staff
Our welfare staff make us what we are: A high-quality, professional medical welfare service provider
Our specialist knowledge, rooted in operational experience, means that DMWS welfare staff have a deep understanding of working with Armed Forces personnel and their families, as well as with veterans, and other uniformed services including the blue light services, NHS staff and The Merchant Navy.
Our professional staff are experts in their field, drawn from a variety of backgrounds including healthcare, social work and counselling. Many are veterans of the Armed Forces and the Police as well as military spouses. They deliver a high quality welfare service, often dealing with highly complex cases in pressured circumstances. They are our most valuable asset.
For our welfare staff to deliver the best service, we need to look after them. DMWS Welfare Staff all gain a Foundation in Welfare Studies accredited by Advantage. We actively encourage staff development both personally and professionally. Structured Continued Professional Development supports ensures staff development and includes Dementia, Mental Health, Transgender, Complex Trauma, Oncology and Life Limiting Diagnosis, Death and Bereavement, Children and Young People, Safeguarding, and Suicide.
