Overview:
Following the success of the Veterans’ Places, Pathways & People (VPPP) Programme 2022/23 in the Autumn Budget 2023 the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced an additional £10M for VPPP. This Fund is being delivered by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (AFCFT). The Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) successfully led the VPPP 22/23 programme in the Midlands region and continues to do so through the consultation phase of VPPP 24/27.
Programme Mission:
Build sustainable and resilient networks to ensure veterans receive prompt, effective and tailored support.
Project Scope: We seek innovative projects that enhance support to vulnerable veterans, their families and carers across the Midlands region, enabling self-sustainability. Focus on seamless access to mental and physical health services through dynamic collaboration and nurturing cross sector partnerships across the region.
Expected Outcomes:
- Enhanced Help Seeking:
- Significant improvements in help-seeking behaviour among the veteran community.
- Holistic Support Approaches:
- Better holistic approach to supporting veterans focusing on mental and physical health.
- Tailor activities and support services to address the diverse needs of veterans.
- Support for Carers and Families:
- Strengthen support networks for veterans’ carers and families.
- Provide resources and services that cater to the wellbeing of the entire family unit.
- Reducing the stigma associated with mental health and seeking help and support.
Funding Details:
- Total regional funding: £900,000 2024/27
- Grant Limits: Up to £50,000 per project
- Funding Duration: One-time funding for projects up to 22 months in duration (short impact initiatives welcomed)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Who Can Apply: Registered Charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), Statutory organisations, Private businesses, or Limited Companies.
- Specific Requirements: Must be operating in the Midlands. Charities and CICs must be UK-registered for at least three years. Use of the AFCFT Impact Hub is a requirement of funding. Impact Hub : Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. Further restrictions apply.
Application Process: The application process has three phases. Phase 1 is the Expression of Interest (EOI). Phase 2 will require a detailed, fully costed plan, informed by shared consultation findings.
EOI Guidelines:
- Total submission word count: 350 words
- Contact Information: Organisation name, lead contact name, address, phone number, email, website
- Organisation Overview: Explain why your organisation seeks funding through this programme, including relevant knowledge, skills, and experience
- Brief Project Proposal: Outline, total estimated costs, indicative timings for project completion, and key performance indicators
- Evidence of collaboration for long term outcomes for beneficiaries
