DMWS has been providing an independent and impartial medical welfare service to the serving Armed Forces community since 1943. In that time we have supported over 1,000 000 patients and their families, ensuring that no one goes through the worry of injury and illness alone. Our highly trained welfare officers provide practical and emotional support to those receiving medical treatment.
In order to retain the humanitarian ethos of both our parent charities and to adapt to changing requirements, DMWS evolves constantly to meet new needs. Recent new projects with organisations such as the police, the NHS, the probation services and the Armed Forces veterans community demonstrates the broad appeal of the organisation and its application to a wide set of frontline services.
We currently support:
- Serving Armed Forces Personnel and their family members
- Aged Veterans, their family members and carers
- Veterans who has had contact with the Criminal Justice System – EFAN Project
- The Police by providing a special Police Medical Welfare Service
We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please see below projects to find out how we can help.
