Veterans Mental Health Peer Support Worker
Location: Dumfries and Galloway
Contract: Full Time
Salary: £26,323.00
Closing date: 13th January 2025
DMWS is working with NHS Dumfries and Galloway to put in place an effective and supportive mental health and wellbeing pathway for veterans. This is a new service, and the initial contract length is 12 months, with the possibility of extension thereafter.
Healthcare professionals can achieve significant improvements in physical and mental health issues, but often there can be other challenges that someone in the Armed Forces Community faces that can inhibit their recovery. Mental health concerns, drivers behind substance abuse, social isolation, inappropriate housing, homelessness, or financial worries can affect someone’s health. DMWS tackles these non-clinical issues that can negatively impact on recovery and overall wellbeing.
