Any advice for making a great application?

It always helps to do a little research and tailor your CV around the position you’re applying for. Check out our mission statement and our organisations values and dig a little deeper into our history – it always helps to be able to reflect these into your application.

Always include a cover letter and let us know why you want to work for DMWS, tell us what makes you passionate about helping others and why working for a non-profit organisation is for you.

It’s always best to highlight any projects you’ve done in your field too!

What can I do to prepare for an interview?

To ensure we interview fairly for every candidate we see we use a scoring matrix to assess your answers throughout the interview. Don’t worry though – we just want to make sure you’re the best fit for us and in return we are the best fit for you.

Interviews can be un-nerving but our team are friendly and want you to feel relaxed (this is when you are at your best after all). We always suggest having to hand a list of experiences which have made you the person you are today, whether that’s having worked on a similar project or something which you felt you overcame with positive results.

What should I expect from working for a non-profit?

We love being a non-profit organisation – it means that everything we do is for the benefit of others. The funds we receive aren’t only just re-invested into the organisation for the benefit of the service users we also make sure our team are taken care of because without you we couldn’t do what we do. Not only do we offer a great benefits package but we supply you with all the tech and tools to be able to perform to your absolute best.

Can I grow in a non-profit?

Of course! We take employee development very seriously at DMWS – we offer a whole host of additional training to ensure that you can reach your full potential when in our employment. All employees receive training in Mental Health First Aid and all our welfare staff are put onto our Foundation of Welfare Studies.
