I first heard of the charity The Defence Medical Welfare Service 11 years ago whilst serving at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, immediately I saw the difference they made to the lives of our Armed Forces Community.  Fast forward to 2018 and I found myself leaving the Armed Forces, and as if by fate a job advertisement for a DMWS Welfare Officer was published, without hesitation I applied, the rest they say is history.

I have been wanting to organise a fundraising event for some time, however due to the current situation this has caused issues, thus finding this 874mile run – the length of our wonderful country (virtually of course) – I also plan for others to join and have a finale to remember.

The target amount set is £874 for the 874 miles meaning each mile covered will be worth £1 for the charity
