The Defence Medical Welfare Service announce changes to the Board of Trustees - DMWS
From the 1st of August 2023 DMWS are pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Griffiths as Chair of the Board of Trustees. Mike comes to the role having previously been a DMWS trustee for 8 years and having served for almost 42 years in both the Army and the Civil Nuclear Constabulary. He will be supported by Andrew Buckham, a Partner with Irwin Mitchell LLP, also a serving trustee who will step up to be Deputy Chair.
At the same time Maryanne Burton, who has served both as trustee and latterly Chair for the last 6 years, will be retiring from the Board. All members of the Board and the DMWS thank Maryanne for her commitment and service to our charity and wish her all the very best for her next adventures.
Mike Griffiths: “I am delighted and honoured to be taking on the role of Chair of the DMWS Board of Trustees at what is an extremely busy and exciting time for our charity. Our core role of delivering medical welfare support to those who are on or have been on the ‘front line’ and their dependents is such an important mission and something that those who serve, thoroughly deserve. My family were recipients of this support at the most challenging of times for us and we will always remember and be thankful for the compassionate care we received then.
