DMWS's Norfolk Armed Forces Welfare Service receives donation from The Geoffrey Watling Charity - DMWS
DMWS are delighted to have been awarded a grant from The Geoffrey Watling Charity to support our Armed Forces Welfare Service in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
This funding will allow us to support those with an Armed Forces connection (whether serving, reservist, veteran, or family member/carer) across Norfolk whilst they are in hospital and back home. We help our Armed Forces Community to:
- – Have better experiences of healthcare and recover more quickly
- – Feel less stressed and anxious
- – Feel less lonely and more connected to their communities
- – Access financial support to reduce the stress of money
- – Access treatment for mental health illnesses such as PTSD and stop thoughts of taking their own life
- – Find and stay in safe housing
- – Enjoy positive relationships with family and friends
- – Overcome alcohol and drug misuse
- – Find meaningful employment or volunteering after service
DMWS’s Head of Midlands Beverley Young says “We are so grateful to The Geoffrey Watling Charity for their support. This critical funding will allow us to continue our work in King’s Lynn and be there for members of the Armed Forces Community who need us”.
We are proud to be there for those who have sacrificed so much to protect their nation. Thank you to The Geoffrey Watling Charity – we couldn’t do it without you!
Need support?
Sometimes things can get on top of you, and it feels like nobody can help. In the military you’re trained to push on, but you don’t need to struggle alone.
If you have worries about health, money and cost of living worries, housing, family, substance misuse, or just need someone to talk to, call DMWS’s helpline for free on 0800 999 3697.
Our support is available for tri-service serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and family members/carers.
