DMWS to expand Armed Forces support to Tayside thanks to funding from The MacRobert Trust - DMWS
DMWS are excited to announce that we have been awarded a two-year grant from The MacRobert Trust to support a new Armed Forces Welfare Service in Tayside.
This funding will allow us to support those with an Armed Forces connection (whether serving, reservist, veteran, or family member/carer) across Tayside whilst they are in hospital and back home. Our support will support people with a range of issues which we expect to include:
- – Poor physical and mental health
- – Wellbeing
- – Social isolation
- – Impacts of health treatment
- – Impact of illness on family
- – Disability / chronic pain
- – Low self-esteem
- – Benefits
- – Falls / frailty
- – Employment impact on wellbeing
- – Suicide/self harm
DMWS’s Head of Scotland Bob Reid says “We are so grateful to The MacRobert Trust for their support. This critical funding will allow us to expand our services to Tayside, an area of Scotland where there is great need, and reach more members of the Armed Forces Community who need us”.
We will be there at each person’s side for as long as they need, ensuring no Armed Forces member is left to struggle alone.
Thank you to The MacRobert Trust – we couldn’t do it without you!
