We are delighted to share that DMWS has been awarded funding from QMRT to continue delivering vital welfare and wellbeing support to disabled veterans and their families.

We provide a range of clinical and non-clinical interventions, and practical and emotional support to individuals, families and carers through times of stress and uncertainty, during medical treatment at the hospital bedside, back home, and in the community or on deployed operations, and in challenging frontline environments.

With QMRT’s support, we will help disabled veterans and their loved ones to:

  • Have better experiences of healthcare and recover more quickly
  • Feel less stressed and anxious
  • Access financial support to reduce the stress of money
  • Feel less lonely and more connected to their communities
  • Enjoy positive relationships with families and friends
  • Find and stay in safe housing
  • Overcome alcohol and drug misuse
  • Access treatment for mental health illnesses such as PTSD

Abby Dryden, CEO of DMWS, says “This generous funding from the QMRT means we can carry on providing support for disabled veterans and their loved ones. We are incredibly grateful for their support.”

Need support?

Sometimes things can get on top of you, and it feels like nobody can help. In the military you’re trained to push on, but you don’t need to struggle alone.

If you have worries about health, money and cost of living worries, housing, family, substance misuse, or just need someone to talk to, call DMWS’s helpline for free on 0800 999 3697.

Our support is available for tri-service serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and family members/carers.
