DMWS will be continuing to provide much needed support to homeless veterans with an amazing donation from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, led by Veterans Housing Scotland, and with SSAFA’s Glasgow’s Helping Heroes. We are proud to be continue to be working together to provide comprehensive and coordinated services that address homelessness, tenancy sustainment, and medical welfare needs. The project will also utilise referral pathways through Op FORTITUDE, a dedicated service which helps to combat veterans’ homelessness.

Through this support, DMWS will help with:

  • Better experiences of healthcare, aiding quicker recovery.
  • Reducing stress and anxiety.
  • Accessing financial support and safe housing
  • Tackling feelings of isolation and loneliness.
  • Strategies to reduce alcohol and drug misuse.
  • Accessing treatment for mental health illnesses such as PTSD.
  • Finding meaningful employment or volunteering opportunities after service.

Abby Dryden, CEO of DMWS, says:

“DMWS are delighted to be continuing this fantastic support, making sure no veteran is left unsupported or without a home. By working in collaboration and bringing our expertise together, we are proud to be bringing improvements in living conditions for veterans.”
