DMWS awarded funds from Treasury in Summer Budget - DMWS
We are delighted that DMWS is to receive an additional £500,000 in funding, announced in yesterday’s Budget. In pledging this money, the Treasury have invested in the health and wellbeing of our Armed Forces Community, ensuring that they receive the very best welfare support during any planned or unplanned medical treatment.
Those who have benefitted from our support over the last 70 years already know the value of our service. We ensure that our service families, who are receiving medical care, are provided with everything they need to help them cope and recover quickly and without worry. Because 60% of our staff are part of the Armed Forces Community they completely understand the challenges of being away from loved ones when accident or ill-health occurs.
Nicky Murdoch, CEO of DMWS said “We are delighted that the Government have recognised the hard work of our DMWS as they continue to make a huge difference to military personnel and their families across the UK, Germany and Cyprus. Our contribution alongside other military charities and the Ministry of Defence is vital in support of all those who put themselves in harms way on behalf of the nation”.
