DMWS CEO Visits Stanford Hall - DMWS

DMWS Chief Executive Paul Gaffney met with Teresa Griffiths OBE ARRC Commanding Officer DMRC, to visit and see first-hand the amazing new premises. The state-of-the-art facility has been built within the grounds of Stanford Hall, and is currently providing clinical rehabilitation to military servicemen and women who have suffered a major trauma.

The DMWS welfare team have supported two recent stroke victims and their families within the NHS clinical environment for a number of months; including the transition to Stanford Hall (DMRC). The visit was a valuable opportunity to see the amenities, which not only includes gymnasiums and hydrotherapy pools; it also offers cutting edge technology such as 3D printing of prosthetic limbs.

CEO, Paul Gaffney said: “It was a terrific visit to DMRC, and I would like to pass on my thanks to Teresa Griffiths for showing me around what is a world class facility, run by an excellent team.”

The Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC), at Stanford Hall, Nottinghamshire, replaced the Headley Court facility, where DMWS had welfare officers based 24/7 for a number of years. The remarkable new bespoke facility was created as a result of the initiative, foresight and generosity of the 6th Duke of Westminster and his family and will ensure that the legacy of Headley Court, forged in the last 70 years, lives on and prospers in its new home in the East Midlands.
