Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) Families in Transition Navigator to the military community in Northern Ireland

Do you want to make a real difference to lives of people in the military community and their families? Are you a confident, self-starter with family and carers welfare experience? We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team both internally and externally, is compassionate and passionate about supporting the Armed Forces Community.

DMWS is an international charity that has been providing medical welfare support to the Armed Forces Community for over 76 years. We are now recruiting a Welfare Officer based partly in Lisburn and partly in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to support the military community with a focus on those families transitioning out of the services.

Working as part of a team you will be supporting the military community in their transition from military to civilian life. This can be a daunting period as it can be difficult to ask for help if feelings of loneliness escalate. This is also a situation faced by partners of serving personnel, single parent serving personnel or those with challenging family situations. In this role as a Families in Transition Navigator DMWS Welfare Officer you will be a bridge to help.

All DMWS Welfare Officers need to be prepared to be mobile and deployable. Additionally, you should be willing to work flexibly to meet job demands. Please see below for job description.
