Over the past 70 plus years, DMWS has expanded the groups it helps to include key, frontline staff, those who serve in the Merchant Navy, police officers and NHS staff. The help is given in a range of circumstances including when they are receiving hospital care, help is formed of both practical and emotional support. Families can also count on DMWS to get them through a trying time.
The responsibilities will be the welfare and effective management of referrals as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be required to correctly assess the welfare needs of service users with unfaltering professionalism and sensitivity. You will need to be able to provide a rapid, solution driven personal response in support in times of need or in crisis situations. Unsociable hours and on call rotas could be a part of your work. We are looking for someone with great interpersonal skills, compassion and the ability to handle complex cases. Experience of working within a policing or Emergency Services environment is essential.
